Game of Thrones is finally back for its final season, promising to bring answers to all of our questions about dragons, white walkers, and, presumably, whether Hot Pie’s new restaurant business will be a success or not.

The new teaser trailer, has been released and viewers now know that the first episode of the successful HBO show was aired on 14 April 2019.

The upcoming season 8 of Game of Thrones release date is not the only exciting news revealed in this new trailer. When you watch the trailer some of the show’s main characters; Arya - Sansa Stark and Jon Snow can be seen walking through the Stark family tomb.

Voiceovers that are set as flashbacks from past characters can be heard.

Lady Catelyn Stark can be heard saying the following: "All bad things that have happened to the Stark family, happened because of her inability/failure to love Jon Snow as her own child."

A quote coming from a previous season (season 3) on Game of Thrones.

Other imperative quotes from the previous seven seasons are dropped during this Season 8 teaser trailer

Game of Thrones has used the tagline “winter is coming” (George R.R Martin, A Game Of Thrones) ominously since 2011 and season 7 finally delivered on that promise. In the final image of the season you can see the undead army of white walkers on horseback's advancing on to the seven kingdoms.

The woefully outmatched remnants of the free folk and the Night’s Watch helplessly watch as the Night King flexes on the reals of men by having his new ice dragon huff, puff and blow the Wall down.

The Night King’s true motives aren't yet known, but we know that he’s extremely powerful and can control the entire army with a sort of telepathy. Avid followers of this series already know that fire can destroy the Wights but only dragon fire, dragon glass and Valyrian steel can kill White Walkers.

As for the Night King, it’s unclear if anything can stop him. Also, a notable cut from this season’s teaser trailer, and all footage used as teasers for the show, is Bran Stark. His absence is noticeable more especially because the new teaser, is set in Winterfell and one can conclude that the trailer seems to focus around the Stark storyline.

How will the Game end? More especially who will survive the winter and who will be seated on the Iron Throne? Will Daenerys Stormborn-Targaryen’s wish of sitting on the Throne finally come to pass? Will another contender take the Throne from her during the turmoil coming in the winter battle against the Night King’s forces?

The final season of Game of Thrones is sure to be a huge dramatic conclusion to one of the most successful HBO shows ever. The last and final episode of this season will air on 20 May 2019.
